Roseau Fire Department (MN) Confined Space Class

Clarey's Safety Equipment's Fire Training Division conducted a 16 hour Confined Space Class for Chief Jeff Ballard and the Roseau Fire Department on May 19-20. This class was instructed by Tim Zehnder and Jay Penfield. Thanks to the Roseau Fire Department for their hospitality and for being such a great group as well as making this such an enjoyable presentation.

We would also like to thank Masabi Range College for their assistance with this training.

About Clarey's Safety Equipment

In the early 1960's Donovan Clarey served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Rochester Rural Fire Department in Minnesota when he decided to sell fire equipment and safety supplies as a part time job out of his garage. Through his hard work and dedication to his customers Donovan and his wife Delma established Clarey's Safety Equipment, Inc. in 1968. Throughout the expansion of Donovan and Delma's business, their children became interested and started getting involved in the operation and continue to be involved in Clarey's today ensuring the same great customer service and quality products.

In the late 1980's Clarey's Safety made a large transition by adding first aid and industrial safety equipment and training on top of the fire equipment and safety supplies. In addition, Clarey's also added internal fire apparatus service bays and high pressure, hydrostatic testing facility.

At Clareys, we take pride in our company and strive for the delivery of excellence in the products and services we provide to our customers. By being honest and ethical we strive to ensure our customers receive the best experience and knowledge in the products and services we are proud to provide. Whether it's the equipment and products we proudly sell, one of our CPR, Fire and Industrial training topics or helping our customers maintain their equipment through our service department on any of the products we sell we hope this will ensure the tradition started by Donovan Clarey continues for another 44 years.

Regarding Tim Zehnder and Jay Penfield: Thanks for coming up and doing it. The guys are still talking about it and their sore muscles.

Tim and Jay came up to Roseau to give us confined space training. The training was very good and they taught us as much as they could in the time we had. We learned a lot about confined space, rope rescue and they also used real life examples of what they have been through. Many of the guys on the department said it was some of the best training they have ever had, something I have heard before after they have had a class with Tim. He keeps setting the bar higher. He is a very good instructor and keeps the classes interesting while getting the information across that he needs to. We are already talking about scheduling the next round of training.
