Clarey’s Safety Equipment, Inc. is proud to announce that we are now
offering quantitative fit testing to our valued customers.

Quantitative respirator fit testing has been around for years and with the new OSHA standards; you need a quantitative fit test program that provides you accurate testing and detailed reporting capabilities… Clarey’s has the solution for you.

Our Quantifit fit testing machine and FitTrack Software provides both quick and accurate testing while also maintaining a comprehensive database for OSHA recordkeeping requirements.

With the Quantifit, within the first ten seconds of testing, you will know whether the respirator user has a basic fit or not.

And the OSHA accepted CNP Redon protocol takes as little as two to three minutes, If other quantitative fit testing instruments measured accuracies of less than 40%, why put your employees or fellow firefighters at risk?

Controlled negative pressure has proven to be the fastest, most accurate, and most health protective fit test system available.  The accepted Redon test protocol allows you to quickly assess respirator fit based on three mask donnings.  Given the Quantifit’s speed and accuracy in measuring actual respirator leakage, why would you subject your employees or fellow firefighters to something that is less than the best?

Clarey’s Safety Equipment, Inc. is proud to announce that we are now
offering fire hose repair and testing to our valued customers.

Do you have a section of hose with damaged coupling, is leaking or need a shorter section of hose?  Clarey’s Safety Equipment can help with our hose repair and re-coupling service.

We can have your damaged hose back in service or cut and
re-coupled to custom lengths at a minimum cost in comparison to the purchase of a new fire hose.

Prior to repair, your hose will be inspected for damage and/or defect and if the cost to repair exceeds 60% of the cost of a new section; you will be advised prior to proceeding with any billable work.  Existing couplings are removed and a clean cut is made to the hose.  If your couplings are in good condition, they will be used with a new expansion ring, or new couplings will be installed.   We also can

recouple and retorque to factory specifications 4” and 5” storz couplings for large diameter hose as well as
field replaceable couplings on hard suction hose.

Genuine Red Head Brass couplings, expansion rings, tail and swivel gaskets are utilized when new parts are required.

Pierce® PUC Modernized Fire Apparatus Design

Pierce Manufacturing Inc. introduced its newest product – the PUC at the Fire Department Instructor's Conference in Indianapolis in April.

The Pierce Ultimate Configuration (PUC) dramatically changes the way the fire service configures apparatus by removing the bulky pumphouse without compromising fire fighting capabilities.

The five most significant benefits of the PUC for fire fighters include:

  • Easier to use
  • Easier to stay safer
  • Easier to store more
  • Easier to service and maintain
  • Easier to maneuver

In addition to eliminate the bulky pumphouse, the PUC features a simplified two-step pump shift operation.  It also positions the pump operator next to hose connections rather than over them, and the pump panel is redesigned for easier use.  Hosebeds, crosslays and ladder access are lower for better ergonomic use.  The entire pump system is also located above the frame for easier and quicker service and maintenance.  With a shortened wheelbase for improved maneuverability (as low as 172”), the PUC also provides up to 500 cubic feet of storage (depending on body size and chassis).
