According to Heart.org, there are almost 383,000 sudden cardiac arrests that occur outside of a hospital each year in the United States. Sudden Cardiac Arrests (SCA) are very serious and can happen to anyone without warning.
What can you do to prevent them? Start by learning CPR! Nearly 70% of Americans do not know how to preform CPR because they either never received the proper training or they cannot remember the training they received.
What exactly does CPR do to save someone’s life? In short, it restores oxygen to an individual’s brain through a combination of rescue breaths and/or chest compressions.
We are educating you about this right now not only because it is important and it could save someone’s life, but because October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Month and we want to do our part. We want to spread the word about Sudden Cardiac Arrest as well as the importance of CPR.
